Obama's Attack on the Constitution

From AFLC:

Obama's Attack on the Constitution

Dear Fellow Americans,

The Obama administration has engaged in an unprecedented assault on our Constitution, resulting in the loss of freedom for all Americans.

Our Founding Fathers created a federal government with limited and enumerated powers for a reason: they wanted to prevent tyranny and protect freedom.  The Founders rightfully concluded that allocation of powers between the federal government and the states enhances freedom, first by protecting the integrity of the governments themselves, and second by protecting the people, from whom all governmental powers are derived.  As James Madison explained in the Federalist Papers: “In the first place it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws.  Its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects. . . .”  Indeed, the U.S. Supreme Court recently reemphasized the important role of federalism, stating, “By denying any one government complete jurisdiction over all the concerns of public life, federalism protects the liberty of the individual from arbitrary power.  When government acts in excess of its lawful powers, that liberty is at stake.”

Despite these clear, constitutional principles, in three short years the Obama administration has engaged in an unprecedented power grab that deprives all Americans of their liberty.  During this time, Obama has forced private citizens to purchase healthcare insurance under penalty of federal law; forced religious organizations to violate their fundamental beliefs and practices by requiring them to provide contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients as part of their healthcare plans; and has sought to prevent states, such as Arizona, from exercising their paramount right to enact criminal laws pursuant to their police powers to protect their citizens from the serious threat posed by illegal immigration.  Indeed, Arizona was compelled to pass its immigration laws because the Obama administration refuses to enforce the federal laws that are already on the books.

The American Freedom Law Center is actively working to prevent these frontal attacks on our Constitution and your faith and freedom.  You can read about AFLC’s efforts to strike down Obamacare here and about our federal lawsuit filed in New York challenging Obama’s “contraception mandate” on behalf of Priests for Life here.  You can also see how we are helping Arizona in defense of its immigration laws in the U.S. Supreme Court.  Additionally, AFLC just launched a “Faith and Freedom Report” that discusses Obama’s assault on our Constitution and on our faith and freedom.  You can watch that video report by clicking the image below.

In short, the American Freedom Law Center is going to battle every day for your faith and freedom, which are grounded in our Judeo-Christian heritage and moral values and enshrined in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence.  However, in order to fight and win these important battles, we also know that we need the support of patriotic Americans like you.

Thank you for supporting the American Freedom Law Center.

May God bless you, and may God bless America.
