Effect of Cloward-Piven Strategy: Conservative Backlash

from The Patriot Word:

Thursday, July 22, 2010Effect of Cloward - Piven Strategy: Conservative Backlash

Trying to cause an economic collapse in the United States will not bring about a transition to Socialism or Dictatorship; it will do exactly the opposite. Early evidence is points to the biggest conservative resurgence since the 1980.

Fortunately, for us, Liberals remain predictably rutted in their advocacy of failed systems and strategies. To say that their obsession with doing the same wrong things and expecting different results doesn’t offer much support for their self-appointed titles as intellectual elites, is a huge understatement.

This is not the first time that, the leftists and their unwitting poorly informed supporters have tried to push Americans toward government dependency. It’s true that they have changed their strategy a little but their objectives and methods remain the same. The objective is to install Socialism in the United States and their method is to convert enough Americans into government dependants to permit them to do so.

As Liberals and Leftists are notoriously poor students of history (not to mention economics, philosophy, human behavior and host of other things) they fail to recognize that they are plotting their own demise.

In 1770, Alexander Fraser noted that democratic forms of government are doomed to failure. His historically supported reason was that as soon as the people realized that they could vote themselves “rich” by plundering their nation’s treasury they were doomed to economic collapse and government dependency. At the time, the average lifespan of democratic forms of government was approximately 200 years.

Fraser also noted that the cycle of democracy followed predictable pattern:

From bondage to spiritual faith; from faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to Complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back again to bondage.

When considering this framework for evaluating the moral and socioeconomic political situations, it is important to recognize that the situation today is somewhat different from the situation in Fraser’s day.

Prior to 1770, before and during the early part of the industrial revolution, there were essentially only two classes of people, one very small rich elite class, and one very large poor class. In essence, the people that Fraser was talking about were the poor class of people. He recognized that it took a lot of education and moral courage for the poor to free themselves from their suffering and they invariable fell back into the same situation. The important point for our purpose is to recognize that the vast majority of people were in the same moral and socio-economic condition.

During the later half of the industrial revolution, a large middle-class emerged and changed the moral and socioeconomic demographics. The emergence of permanent classes has broken this cycle.

Considering Frazer’s cycle, the middle class is progressing from liberty to abundance. On the other side of the same cycle, we government- dependents descending into bondage. The conflict between these two groups has been the essence of American politics since Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930’s guaranteed the continued existence of government dependents. For overlooking this obvious detail, Cloward and Priven get an F, for their evil little project to destroy the American Dream.

In 1980, following a period of typical Democrat/Liberal mismanagement the country was suffering from stagflation, increasing unemployment and continuous high inflation. That year we elected Ronald Reagan as the fortieth president, republicans gained 35 seats in the House of Representatives (democrats maintained a 242/192 majority), and republicans won control of the Senate (53/46) gaining 12 seats.

One of the many things Democrats and Liberals fail to understand is that middle-class Americans have already recognized that Socialism (Cloward – Piven) is the cause not the solution to our problems, and trying to use Socialism to wreck Capitalism to install Socialism only reinforces our desire to fire anyone and everyone associated with such a scheme. The backlash this time around will be even greater than in the 1980’s where Socialism was creeping into our way of life. The Cloward – Piven, cram it down their throats strategy will work, but it’s the advocates of this strategy that are going to pay the price.

The upshot of all this is that the blame for destroying the economy will fall squarely on Liberals, Leftists, Special Interest Groups, Unions, Trial Lawyers, Welfare Recipients, Academic Elite, etc. in other words Democrats. God forbid you are one of them…

Remember, we still have our Bibles and Guns and, if you get caught with your hands in our cookie jar when the cookies run out there's going to be hell to pay.

fyi, Here’s the article that Cloward and Piven jointly published in “The Nation Magazine” in 1966: http://www.thenation.com/print/article/weight-poor-strategy-end-poverty
