Mexican Flags Fly In Arizona Protests

From Lou Dobbs:

Mexican Flags Fly at Arizona Protest

Jul-30-2010

There's nothing more jarring than the image of ethnocentric protestors waving Mexican flags at an amnesty protest. If you really want American citizenship and rights, why wave a foreign flag?

Arizona's anti-illegal immigration law took effect at midnight on Wednesday, despite the fact that Judge Susan Bolton gutted the law of four key sections that make sense to all of us who believe in the rule of law in this country.

But the protests went on anyway, despite the ideological ruling from Judge Bolton. Hundreds gathered at the offices of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Protesters there blocked an entrance to the Maricopa County facility, prompting the arrests of 23 people after they refused to move. At least two journalists covering the event were detained by the Sheriff's Office, but both were later released and not charged.

Perhaps the strangest part of the scene, however, came when protestors waved oversized Mexican flags in the crowd. How does that make any sense? Take a look:

Wouldn't it make more sense to wave the American flag?
